our very own star football player

I don’t know how you can expect me to keep this whole football thing to myself. You see, our grandson Bailey has become quite a famous fellow in the Arizona high school football circles.

His team, the Gilbert Christian Knights, played a perfect 10-0 season with Bailey as their starting quarterback.

Here’s #4, posed.

In action!

Gilbert Christian-Bailey 1

As a result of Bailey breaking two Arizona high school game records, the Arizona Cardinals gave him their high school player of the week award. Keep in mind that the total enrollment at his school is 170, and only 13 or 14 players suit up for each game.

Dusty took this video of a special assembly at school when a couple of Cardinals came to present the award.

I wish you could know Bailey. There isn’t a single thing to not like about him.

Today we sat in John and Erin’s living room and watched the streamed playoff game. We had high hopes, and the Knights played a very decent game.

Unfortunately, the opposing team played a better game and walked off the field with a win.

What’s one loss among friends? I couldn’t be more proud of our remarkable grandson and his teammates. There will be more fun in late December when Bailey and his dad join the other high school players of the week as guests of the Arizona Cardinals to be recognized at a game. So you see why I couldn’t keep this to myself.
