quest for bbq

On our final zag down to Jacksonville we decided the time had come to seek out some authentic Southern BBQ. Mauri used his “Point” app to find a five-star joint in downtown Savannah. Tourists and traffic filled the streets, and we had a hard time finding Walls’ BBQ.

So we paid the $10 to park in a small lot and hoofed the several blocks.

After such a lengthy search we were wide-eyed at this intriguing destination. But not deterred. No no. Eager!

We ordered ribs (Mauri) and chopped pork while visions of Triple D danced in our heads.

Sometime between 1963 and now, they moved the apostrophe. Who notices things like that?

It was OK. Certainly nothing to write home about (though you’ll notice I’m blogging about it).

Still, the experience stuck to our memories as we headed on down the road.
