followed by a reception

I could start by telling you we had perfect weather and a perfect setting for the wedding reception at Trump National Golf Club. But I’ll save the 1,000 words and share this picture.

We can’t thank Trish and Tim Ambrose, Beth’s parents, for the perfect weather, but they are fully responsible for the perfect setting to celebrate our kids’ marriage.

We started with beverages on the patio.

The golf course served as backdrop for this siblings shot as well.

You might have missed these sweet grandgirls in the wedding post; they were napping, but now ready to party!

Inside, we settled at our assigned tables.

Neil sent this pic just in time to be included here.

And I snapped this of Neil and Randee to finish out the Anderson clan.

Quinn and her beloved brother Ben.

By surprise, I was invited to dance with the groom. Ha! We set the bar way low but at least managed to not step on each other’s feet. If you’re brave enough to watch 34 seconds of it, click HERE. Compliments of Mauri.

Thankfully, it wasn’t a contest. Here the father and daughter show how it’s done.

First dance as Mr. & Mrs.

We ate and talked and walked around. We made several trips to the photo booth and watched the bride and groom feed each other cake. It was all wonderful, yet a few highlights stood out.

Taylor sang “My One and Only Love” to his bride. You see Mauri at the piano.

He wasn’t thrilled with some of the higher notes.

But Beth was pleased, and that’s what counts.

Ben’s touching toast included appropriate references to their dad, Paul Carlson, whose absence we all felt in snippets throughout the day.

Paul always wore a Mickey Mouse watch, so here is T’s way to recognize his dad’s “presence.”

But then at the reception Beth took the microphone and told everyone she’d ordered a cake in Paul’s memory—A Mickey Mouse cake! (My thanks to Randee for pushing me in the picture and capturing this moment.)

Very, very cool. I especially like the inclusion of Paul in the day’s activities.
