family reunion #5

Our family reunion is now a memory, but we all left the Georgia mountains happy and eager for another in three or four years. We did all the usual things families do together—played, ate, reminisced, laughed, and ate some more. And we took a lot of pictures. I tried, really I did, to choose only my very favorites to share. I can’t claim to be the shooter of each photo here, but most anyway. Take a breath; I’ll go fast.

A rousing sand volleyball game, one generation against the other. Wanna venture a guess who won? (Nope. The adults.)

Speaking of the smalls, this is Aubrey and Cassidy (with Dusty) at their first family reunion in 2004.

Surprising, Mauri caught a couple of shots of me that I don’t hate.

Our last night together we took some family group shots. These hosted our reunion, no small undertaking! (Thanks, Cheryl and Kevin—and Peyton.)

Of course I needed a shot of these two for my series that began in 1971 with …

One of my greatest joys of the week took place at the restaurant the final night. I’d gathered the full-family shots from all five reunions and set up my computer. And this is what happened.

We did.

I just have to add that the adults won the first volleyball game but the KIDS were victorious in the second! I love it Gus!

  3. Lisa LeMasters says:

40 years ago when I first met you Sherry, at the Gordon Villa, I told myself that when I grew up I wanted to be just like you. I still do.
