just like old times

I’ll reshare two pictures from a July 2010 post that showed that the Carlsons and the Macys fed our families off the same Pfaltzgraff dishes back in the day.

That’s Taylor.

That’s John.

Nearly two years after passing along most of those dishes to the two local Macy families, we hardly think about them anymore.

Yesterday, after taking Rachel and Oscar to the airport, Mauri and I stopped at Arleta Library Cafe for some breakfast. We ordered something slathered in sausage gravy, which covered our plates.

You can see I had to eat half of it before I could see I was eating on old familiar family dishes and had to take a picture (looks a little unappetizing but was delish!) It’s the little things, you know.

Bonus: If you want to see where we ate and how the sweet potato biscuits and sausage gravy were made, check out this Diners, Drive-in, and Dives video.
