I’ve read several “meme” posts but haven’t found the word defined anywhere (I need a blog lingo dictionary), so I’ll take a stab at it: When you’re “tagged” you’re supposed to post a bunch of stuff about yourself, as in “me me.” Anyone want to clear this up?
A few minutes ago, while I was finally catching up on my blog reading, I noticed that Michelle had tagged me. I enjoy seeing what people write about themselves. Here’s how it works:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/stories about him or herself.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and to read your blog.
1—I can sing the Korean national anthem. I learned it forty years ago when I spent four weeks in that country on a Youth for Christ Teen Team. Since Mauri was on that same team, he learned it too, and we sing it together every now and then, just for fun.
2—I used to stick up my nose at artificial plants. Not any more! Our home is decorated, inside and outside, with many easy-care plants that live on and on. But when I broke my ankle more than a year ago, a friend brought an African violet to cheer me. I am proud to report that I recently divided it into three plants, and, knock on wood, they’re still alive, one thriving. My mother would be so proud.
3—I am a deeply spiritual person, meaning my Christian faith is firmly founded and grounded. At the same time I am a deeply human person, meaning I’m a cracked pot, ever grateful for the grace God offers me every day.
4—I’m a fish out of water here on the Left Coast, in more ways than elephants and donkeys can depict. But I still love it here.
5—I’m married to a man who roasts his own coffee beans, grinds them, and uses a monster machine to pull espresso, but I’m a tea-totaler. I love the smell of coffee but have never acquired a taste for it.
6—My “love language” is deeds.
7—My favorite pastime is looking at pictures. I like to take pictures too but only so that I’ll have some to look at later. You’ll make my day if you send me pictures in e-mail or a link to pictures online. At the moment I have three, no, four picture projects going on. So you see that I invest much of my discretionary time in photographs.
8—On my 60th birthday (two years ago) I was out at the coast with my family. While I watched the younger ones doing yoga I wondered if I could still stand on my head. So I took a pillow into a room and closed the door. Guess what! I could still stand on my head, feet straight up in the air, for, oh, ten seconds before I started thinking that was long enough. I picked up the pillow and walked out of the room and never said a word about it—until now.
Okay, I tag: JoyM and LizW (not exactly 8, I know)
