We’ve had a very full weekend that includes sprucing up the house for our upcoming family reunion, dealing with the senior Macys’ stuff since their recent move to a higher level of care at their retirement community, a change-of-address mailing to their friends and family, helping them celebrate their 65th anniversary, crunch-week planning for the before-mentioned family reunion, and an open forum meeting at church. All of this in addition to the usual weekend routine of leading worship (Mauri only this week) in three morning services, laundry, bathroom cleaning, etc. Still we find time to park in front of the TV, usually with our laptops open on our, um, laps. I have a pull-down file in my browser of all the blogs I read regularly. Mauri prefers the RSS feed. I base which blogs I check on the amount of time I have to devote to this most unexpected hobby of mine. I’ve become very familiar with who posts at what frequency, so if I have only a few minutes I check Joy and Craig and Dan and Dooce. Last week on one of these quickie blogfests I opened Craig’s and read: “I got an e-mail from a good friend this morning….” That “friend” was me! Then I opened Aj’s blog and read: “The other day I ran into a friend at the store….” That “friend” was me! It was just the coolest thing to feel equally connected with my friend Craig in Sun City, AZ, and my friend Aj here in Newberg. I absolutely love blogs! I wish everybody had one! It’s more fun than reading People Magazine!
If you have a blog, don’t keep it to yourself. If you don’t have a blog, why not?
