license to brag

Okay, so I’m a grandma and that means now and then I utilize my pride permit. It’s the good kind of pride, of course, the kind based in thankfulness. This note just came through from Quinn:

Just back from chapel at Cherry Hills Christian…to watch Bailey get a praise award for character and dedication…

(Do we love our school or what?)

His teacher writes:
“It is my privilege to award Bailey Anderson with this praise award for his steady character and dedication to his work. I have watched Bailey come to school every day with a sense of purpose and a desire to do his best in everything. He starts every task with the idea that he is going to produce good work and he does! He seldom is defeated and always tries. How we can all learn from his example. Bailey befriends everyone. He dearly loves his family and they are foremost in his mind whenever he prays and clearly has their best interests at heart. [At this comment Bailey grinned widely at Dusty and me…] Bailey is also willing and ready to share and to try new things. My verse for you today is Romans 5:3-5. ‘Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.’ I am proud of you,
Bailey. And it’s a pleasure to teach you! Congratulations!”

  1. Ridge says:

Train up a child in the way he should go and he will not depart from it! Is there anything that fills us with more wonder and awe at God’ faithfulness than seeing our children heed His call? I can’t think of a thing! You are seeing your faithfulness to that call being played out over two generations…WOW!
